This resource provides naturopathic practitioners a few simple guidelines on how to make their practice more inclusive and welcoming to those in the LGBTQ community.

According to the article “Five Steps to Building a LGBTTTIQ Culturally Competent Naturopathic Practice”:

“Naturopathic doctors are a proudly eclectic group. Our strength lies within our diversity. The same can be said of the LGBTTTIQ community. No other culturally identified group can claim members from every walk of life – including all ages, abilities, ethnicities, races, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds. This diversity can challenge the allopathic medical model to meeting the health
-care needs of this community, but we as naturopathic doctors can offer individualized care and thus provide leadership in LGBTTTIQ healthcare. Between 5% and 10% of all Ontarians are believed to be part of the LGBTTTIQ community, so this is an important niche to fill. Here are five simple steps to get you started…”
