The authors are both from the Free University of Brussels, Belgium. This article reviews the options for lesbians to become parents, focusing on assisted reproductive technology, the legislation governing ART in European countries (however this information may be dated), the assumptions about why lesbians would not make good parents and shows how research does not support these assumptions. It also reviews the literature on the characteristics and viewpoints of lesbian couples undergoing counseling related to ART.
