Experience in LGBT2SQ research

I previously worked with the Saskatchewan Equity, Equality, and Diversity lab at the University of Saskatchewan under the supervision of Dr. Todd Morrison, where I participated on several projects with 2SLGBTQ+ individuals. My honours project was the creation of a measure of positive bisexual identity, and my Master’s project was on the impact of microaffirmations on bisexual identity and mental health. Currently, I am a Ph.D. student with the van Anders lab at Queen’s University, under the supervision of Dr. Sari van Anders. I have also worked in the community, with Saskatoon Sexual Health and the Saskatoon Abortion Support Network. I strongly believe in the importance of translating academic knowledge and giving back to the community, and my work at SASN has involved ensuring that queer and trans people are included in abortion access and care at every step of the way.

Interest in LGBT2SQ research

I am interested in all facets of 2SLGBTQ+ research, but my current focus lies in research on sexual fluidity, sexual identity development, and nurturant sexuality. I have also been heavily involved in research on positive bisexual identity and experiences. As a bisexual person, I’m interested in the ways in which bisexual individuals build resiliency in our day-to-day lives. Other interests of mine include 2SLGBTQ+ resiliency in groups such as queer youth, transgender persons, and sober queer persons.
