This paper summarizes the research on gay parents to justify why they should be given access to assisted reproductive technology (ART). The article addresses assumptions about gay parenting such as whether gay men are more likely to molest their children, whether their children are more likely to be gay or face more stigma then the children of heterosexual parents. It identifies the need for further research about the experiences of gay men using ART and their children and the development of guidelines in treatment for gay men using ART.
