This fact sheet explores the interplay between eating and LGBTQ identity. Eating is more than nutrition; it can enable people to bond,
but it can also be a source of great distress.  Mainstream diet and nutritional advice seldom take people’s social context into account. While this fact sheet focuses primarily on the intersection of eating and LGBTQ identity, other factors such as race/racialization, ethnicity, and disability also strongly affect people’s relationship with food.
