Andrew is a practitioner who works primarily with teens, young adults, and families. They also have experience working with older adults and parents of Queer youth. He is a Latinx, Non-Binary Queer person with a strong passion for helping their fellow community members of the LGBTQ2S+. Furthermore, they have extensive experience in supporting individuals who are in the process of transitioning and/or obtaining gender affirming medical care.

His primary interest is in helping individuals to cope and overcome challenges with emotional regulation, stress management, social skills, personal goal attainment, and self-discovery.

Andrew takes on a mainly eclectic therapeutic approach with clients, informed by practices from a wide range of styles, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy (NT), and more. Their techniques are informed by a balance of evidence-based sources, a client-centered approach, critical and Queer theories, and intersectional anti-oppressive practice outlooks.

Andrew is currently a social work PhD student at York University – specializing in advances in psychotherapy (i.e. alternative approaches) and social justice. He is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and is available for virtual sessions.
