New Episodes of 2SLGBTQ Health in Focus are Here!
Rainbow Health Ontario is very excited to share our two new episodes of our podcast 2SLGBTQ Health in Focus. Each episode covers an important topic in 2SLGBTQ health, with our latest two episodes examining Cancer Screening for 2SLGBTQ People, and IPV in 2SLGBTQ Relationships.
Episode 5: Cancer Screening for 2SLGBTQ Communities
We know that 2SLGBTQ people are less likely to participate in routine cancer screenings, but why? We speak with Dr. Aisha Lofters about the role of providers in routine cancer screenings, and Dr. Kathryn Pfaff about research, nursing and more considerations when it comes to cancer screening. We are joined by three 2SLGBTQ community members who discuss their experiences with cancer screening – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Episode 6: IPV in 2SLGBTQ Relationships page
Yes – intimate partner violence happens in 2SLGBTQ+ relationships, and IPV is an important health care issue. RHO sat down with MPP for Toronto-Centre Kristyn Wong-Tam, who has been working towards having IPV declared an epidemic in Ontario, as well as Tori Stranges, a PhD candidate and researcher focused on brain injury and intimate partner violence in the 2SLGBTQ+ community and Iona Skye, a social worker and educator who shares her lived experience of IPV and work in this area.
