Register today for the Rainbow Health Ontario 2020 Conference in Niagara Falls
As Canada’s forum for LGBT2SQ health, the conference covers the lifespan of LGBT2SQ health issues and features esteemed keynote speakers Dr. James Makokis and award-winning author Zena Sharman.
From April 21-23, 2020, join leading experts in LGBT2SQ health from across Canada at the The Current (RHO 2020) in stunning Niagara Falls. With over 85 sessions and 200 speakers to choose from, you’ll be exposed to the leading edge of LGBT2SQ health practice, research, policy and systems.
Dr. James Makokis will open RHO 2020 with his unique perspective on LGBT2SQ health and wellness as a Cree, Two-Spirit physician committed to gender-affirming care. He and his partner recently won The Amazing Race Canada, with the added distinction of being the first Two-Spirit team to ever compete.
“We’re delighted for this year’s incredible program and eager to join our attendees for what is sure to be an unforgettable experience in beautiful Niagara Falls,” says Hazelle Palmer, President & CEO of Sherbourne Health, Rainbow Health Ontario (RHO)’s parent organization. “Our theme, The Current, reflects the opportunities we have to advance LGBT2SQ health at this moment in time. RHO 2020 will catalyze this momentum by providing an inclusive LGBT2SQ health forum where like-minded people can connect across disciplines.”
Researcher, author and LGBT2SQ health advocate Zena Sharman, known for her award-winning book The Remedy: Queer and Trans Voices on Health and Health Care, will bring the conference to a close. Sharman’s passion for moving people and systems towards greater health, equity and justice will inspire attendees to reflect on how they can effect change with the knowledge they take away from the conference.
Attendees can opt to attend one of three full-day training sessions prior to the conference, including an introduction to LGBT2SQ health for care providers looking to get started, and the debut offering of RHO’s highly anticipated new clinical training, Use of puberty blockers and alternatives in transgender youth in primary care.
