LGTB Health Matters: An Education & Training Resource for Health and Social Service Sectors

This manual has been developed as a convenient and practical resource for educators of health and social services personnel. It is a tool which can be used in part or its entirety. Constructed as four independent but inter-related modules, it uses a variety of methods to help the educator and learner to better understand LGTB communities, their experiences and their interaction with health and social service sectors:

  1. Introduction to Heterosexism and LGBT-phobia and Their Impact on the Health and Well-being of the Lesbian, Gay, Trans, Bisexual, Populations
  2. Understanding LGBT Diversity and the Factors which Determine LGBT Health and Well being
  3. Delivering Accessible and Inclusive Health and Social Services to LGBT Individuals, Families and Communities
  4. The Health and Social Service Provider as an Advocate for LGBT Inclusion
