Dr. Coutin is a Resident Physician in Emergency Medicine at the University of Ottawa. They completed their medical school at the University of Toronto, where they were involved in many research, education, and knowledge translation initiatives to better the care of 2SLGBTQIA+ people.
Interest in LGBT2SQ research
Dr. Coutin is currently interested in how we can build a safer clinical environment for the trans and gender-diverse (TGD) community through the avenues of collaborative research, knowledge translation, and a critically conscious anti-oppressive approach to medical education. They are an Executive Member of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP) 2SLGBTQIA+ National Committee, and continue to strive to improve numerous aspects of sex and gender minority (SGM) care.
Other interests include addictions medicine, EDI in medical education, healthcare worker wellness, sexual health, and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS).
