Abuse in Same-Sex Relationships: Information and Resources

Abuse in same-sex relationships is a serious problem within lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and Two-Spirit communities. Same-sex partner abuse is often ignored, minimized or misunderstood by families, friends, communities and services providers, but it is a reality. This brochure provides some information about abuse in same-sex relationships. It details what an “abusive intimate relationship” is, provides advice and solutions for those in an abusive relationship, and how to combat or respond to same-sex abuse as a community.
