Fact sheet with research on LGBTQ youth suicide, and recommendations for service providers. This fact sheet provides statistics on the numbers of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBTQ) youth who consider or attempt suicide. These statistics are based on self-reporting. The report urges health care providers to be attentive of to “symptoms of depression and be cognizant of how social location and experience affect depression and suicidality” and stresses the important need of suicide prevention interventions for LGBTQ youth.
