Outreach and education are key to increasing safety and visibility of LGBT youth. A vibrant poster produced by LGBT street-involved youth brings the “Positive Space” message to group homes, shelters, youth drop-ins, anywhere that young LGBT folks feel marginalized and/or invisible. It is essential that these spaces also provide training and support to their staff and that anti-oppression policies be put in place in order to build and maintain safe space. There is a huge need province-wide for accessible resources that will reflect the experience of LGBT youth, giving them both visibility and information.

The poster shows the logos for Egale Canada, Rainbow Health Ontario and the LGBT Youthline. Each of these partner organizations provides up-to-date LGBT-specific information across the GTA and throughout the province, which will therefore be directly relevant to young people seeking supports in their particular region.
