Laura Katherine Hayes | Full Spectrum Doula
Laura is a full spectrum doula.
She provides physical, emotional, informational, advocacy and partner support for events involving reproductive health. This includes pregnancy, birth, abortion, postpartum, stillbirth, and miscarriage events. She believes that regardless of the choices you make for your body, you deserve to be heard and supported, and always feel ownership of your body. Doulas are professionals, trained to support you and your choices.
Laura received her training for birth services from DONA International, the oldest doula organization in the world. She also completed training for assisting trauma survivors in birth from the Penny Simkin’s course on “When Survivors Give Birth”, also with DONA .
While running her own private business, Laura is also a doula with the non for profit, BIRTH MARK that specifically works for marginalized communities in Toronto. With BIRTH MARK, she specifically works with abuse survivors, and for providing abortion support for clients. She is a backup doula for Spectrum Doula Collective.and The Doula Collective. She is a labour support volunteer at Jessie’s Centre for Younger Women and is currently in the mentorship program with Toronto Doula Group.
Laura is also an abortion counselor with Exhale, an after-abortion talk-line that supports callers from all across North America. She is also currently in training to become a trauma counselor at George Brown College, in the Assaulted Women’s & Children’s Counselling/Advocacy program.
Laura has 10 years of childcare experience, and 5 years working with families as postpartum support, as well as nanny services.
As a doula, Laura works from an intersectional feminist approach. Wherever you come from, whatever you believe, how you identify, or who you love, Laura is prepared to help you feel listened to, respected, and empowered during your reproductive health experience.
Laura is pro-sex work, pro-choice, and works with all genders.
She assists individuals and families, of all types, ages, and abilities in Toronto and the GTA.
