The AIDS Committee of North Bay & Area (ACNBA) is a community-based, registered, non-profit organization, serving people in the North Bay catchment area – bounded by West Nipissing, Kirkland Lake, Mattawa and Huntsville – who are infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C since 1991*.

ACNBA’s mission is to assist and support all people infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS and/or Hepatitis C and to limit the spread of the viruses through education, outreach and treatment strategies.

  • ACNBA offers counseling services for clients who are in all stages of Hepatitis C treatment (Pre, in treatment, and post treatment) through our Multidisciplinary Hepatitis C team.
  • ACNBA’s harm reduction strategies, we offer harm reduction supplies to individuals who use substances. The sterile, single use injection and inhalation supplies are free, don’t require a health card or identification.
  • We provide education and information about medical and complementary forms of treatment via internet access, DVDs, books, published brochures, articles, etc. We also have professional staff who are able to provide additional guidance and advice on the latest treatment trends and strategies that may provide a more favourable regimen for you.
  • Safer Spaces provides organizational assessments, professional development workshops, and consultation services to create more inclusive programs and workplaces for 2S-LGBTQ+ communities.
  • New Horizons for 2S-LGBTQ+ Older Adults is committed to reducing the social isolation experienced by this population through the creation of online and in-person social and support opportunities, educational workshops and culturally relevant programming.
