Helena Frecker, MD

I am an Obstetrician & Gynecologist working in Toronto. In addition to my specialist training, I have done a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and a Masters Degree in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety.

I have a particular interest in providing safe and inclusive care for the LGBTQ+ community, particularly for gender diverse patients. I have given city-wide educational presentations to healthcare providers regarding care for gender diverse individuals and done a surgical observership at GRS Montreal.

I offer Gender Confirming Surgery in the form of hysterectomy BSO for transmale patients and provide post-operative care to trans individuals who have had other Gender Confirming Surgeries, including vaginoplasty, phalloplasty, metoidioplasty, etc.

Being an Obstetrician, I also offer safe and inclusive prenatal and labour & birth care. I deliver babies at Michael Garron Hospital (formerly Toronto East General). At MGH, we are striving to make our labour & birth unit as inclusive for the LGBTQ+ community as possible through education of our staff and creation of a safe and gender-inclusive space.
