Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read about me, Louriecar (pronounced Lori + car)! I have a passion for the human mind, which has led me to a BA in psychology from Carleton University and a graduate certificate in victimology from Algonquin College and Dubrovnik University.

Throughout my life, I have dealt with the challenges and pressures of being a first-generation Canadian and wrestling with mental health challenges. My experiences have led me to work with the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre and the Canadian Resource Centre for Victims of Crime, where I listened to clients in a 2SLBGTQ safe space with compassion, empathy and unconditional positive regard. I believe the client is the expert in their lives, and I am ecstatic to collaborate in taking small steps towards meaningful change using narrative and strength-based approaches.

Outside the clinical setting, I enjoy knitting socks and napping with my Shiba-Inu. I have a curious mind about learning about your story, so feel free to contact me for a free 15-minute consultation (or to see a photo of my dog!). I will be accepting clients for online appointments. As a practicum student, I will see clients under the supervision of Judy Lui, Msc, CCC, RP. and MacGyver Kou, Msc, RP.
