Seeking and starting psychotherapy can be intimidating, especially if you’re part of a community that has been historically over-diagnosed or if you are worried about being judged. As a queer person, I am familiar with this experience and understand the reservations that come with trusting a professional with personal stories, thoughts, and emotions.

I believe that the bedrock of effective psychotherapy is rooted in the relationship we cultivate. Getting to know the real you is important to me! As such, I pay close attention to your needs and goals, your values, your identity, and your comfort level. Life problems and intense emotions are valid and worthy of compassionate exploration.

I am drawn to positive approaches that help you safely express yourself and your problems, and that lay the groundwork for sustainable and meaningful change. We will focus on what works, re-work or rearticulate what doesn’t, and weave together new ways of thinking and being that are in line with your authentic self.

I specialize in LGBTQ+ identity formation, coming out, life transitions, work and school stress, motivation, and negative experiences with religion.  My practice is always grounded in anti-oppression, is queer affirming, and welcome to everyone.
