The fourth edition of Sherbourne Health’s Guidelines for Gender-Affirming Primary Care with Trans and Non-Binary Patients, like its predecessor, was authored by Dr. Amy Bourns, a family physician on Sherbourne’s 2SLGBTQ+ Health Team. In addition to incorporating newly available evidence in both general primary care and trans health, the 2019 edition includes revisions and expansions in several areas, as well as medication amendments added in 2023 and 2026.
Readers should review these amendments on pages I-VI before consulting the main document. Where conflicts exist, the amended guidance supersedes the original 2019 text.
