Talk with Kai

I provide trauma-informed, consent-led virtual psychotherapy for 2SLGBTQIA+ adults and partners navigating identity exploration, trauma, intimacy challenges, grief, neurodivergence, and relationship repair. I work with individuals and couples, including queer and non-monogamous relationships.

My practice recognizes that many queer and trans clients are navigating the cumulative impact of stigma, invisibility, medical gatekeeping, and relational trauma. Many of the patterns clients bring into therapy make sense when viewed in context, such as growing up unseen, masking for safety, navigating rejection, or carrying the weight of being misunderstood. My work begins from the assumption that your responses developed for a reason.

As a non-binary therapist, I bring both clinical training and lived experience to this work. I understand the layered impact of minority stress, internalized shame, family rupture, religious harm, and systemic barriers within healthcare systems. Therapy with me is collaborative, relational, and grounded in respect for lived experience. Clients are not required to educate me on foundational queer or trans concepts.

My work integrates:

  • Gender-affirming and sexuality-affirming care
  • Support for gender exploration and transition-related processes
  • Relationship and intimacy therapy, including desire discrepancy, sexual communication, and attachment repair
  • Neurodivergent-affirming therapy for ADHD, autism, and sensory differences
  • Trauma and attachment healing using psychodynamic, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems-informed parts work, and polyvagal-informed approaches
  • Support for chronic illness, disability, new diagnoses, and health-related grief
  • Ambiguous loss and disenfranchised grief often experienced within queer communities

My goal is to offer a space where clients can speak honestly about sex, identity, bodies, trauma, and relational patterns without being rushed, minimized, or reduced to a diagnosis.
